Strengthening Early Learning Practices – Classroom Observation & Feedback Session
condary School, Ayyanavaram, focusing on the observation of Kindergarten classes and a subsequent feedback discussion with teachers. The program aimed to assess how effectively the FEFDY Curriculum was being implemented in the classrooms and to provide constructive guidance for improvement.
The classroom observations covered both the main building (LKG A & B, UKG A & B) and the branch campus (LKG C, UKG C). The observations highlighted differences in implementation across classes. While LKG C and UKG C at the branch were aligned with the planner and showed positive student engagement, several challenges were noted in the main building. Teachers in some sections were not fully prepared to manage classroom dynamics, lessons were being delivered ahead of schedule, and students showed limited confidence and participation. Environmental distractions, including noise and space constraints, further affected teaching effectiveness.
The post-observation meeting with educators provided an opportunity to share practical solutions and reinforce the vision of the FEFDY Curriculum. Teachers were encouraged to strictly follow the weekly planner, integrate weekly themes into cross-curricular activities, and make use of play corners, visual displays, and hands-on learning materials. Concerns about certain topics being “too advanced” for young learners were addressed by demonstrating simplified, real-life approaches to teaching them. The session emphasized that every topic in the curriculum is carefully designed for the developmental stage of children and should not be omitted.
Educators were guided to focus on personalized support, encourage student participation, and incorporate visual and tactile aids into lessons. They were also introduced to strategies for using real objects and everyday examples to make content more relatable. The upcoming introduction of digital resources, expected within the next few weeks, was highlighted as an important step to enhance classroom engagement.
By the end of the session, teachers gained clarity on the importance of structured and student-centered delivery of the curriculum. With focused strategies, adherence to the planner, and the integration of creative teaching methods, the Kindergarten team at Bethel is better positioned to create engaging, meaningful, and developmentally appropriate learning experiences for their students.
